Lisocabtagene maraleucel (Breyanzi^®) was first approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2021 for patients with relapsed or refractory large B-cell lymphoma (LBCL), high-grade B-cell lymphoma, primary mediastinal large B-cell lymphoma, and grade IIIB follicular lymphoma. In 2022, the FDA expanded its approval for the initial indication to include those with refractory disease or relapse within 12 months of first-line chemoimmunotherapy who are not eligible for hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.

Oxaliplatin (Eloxatin^®) is a platinum-based drug used since 2002 to treat colorectal cancer. It can cause serious hypersensitivity adverse reactions and has the unique side effect of reversible peripheral sensory neuropathy exacerbated by exposure to cold temperature or objects. It gets its name from its chemical structure, which has an oxalate ligand.

Although incidence varies by cancer type, approximately 20%–87% of patients experience cachexia during their cancer journey. Affecting nearly every patient with advanced cancer, cachexia is attributed to 20% of cancer-related deaths.

The relationship between nutrition and cancer outcomes is complex. Nutritional status is closely linked to cancer treatment outcomes as well as the prevalence and tolerance of side effects. Oncology nurses often educate patients about proper nutrition throughout their cancer journey, but adherence requires patients to have access to nutritious food. 

Tarlatamab-dlle (Imdelltra™) was granted accelerated approval in May 2024 for the treatment of extensive-stage small cell lung cancer with progression on or after a platinum chemotherapy regimen.
